Dear Distinguished Shaw High School Alumni,

Warm greetings to you from the Shaw High Alumni Association (SHAA)!

We are thrilled to announce that our beloved Annual Shaw High Alumni Weekend is less than 45 days away! This cherished tradition is more than just a reunion—it's a time for fellowship, celebration, and most importantly, supporting the future of Shaw High School students.

This year's festivities will follow our time-honored schedule:

  • Thursday, August 28, 2025 kicks off with an informal gathering at Jackie’s on Noble Road in East Cleveland where you can buy tickets and T-Shirts.
  • On Friday evening, August 29, 2025, join us for the ever-popular Meet & Greet at the Villa Croatia Party Center.
  • Saturday night, August 30, 2025 is reserved for class-specific celebrations—special congratulations to the Class of 1975 as they celebrate their 50th Reunion!
  • Finally, we’ll close the weekend on a high note with our signature Party-In-The-Park at Forest Hills Park on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Beyond reconnecting and reminiscing, your participation directly fuels our mission. For the past 19 years, SHAA has proudly raised over $90,000 in scholarships, assisting 75 graduating seniors with tuition and books. Many of these students have returned to serve East Cleveland as nurses, nonprofit leaders, educators, and other respected professionals.

Our support has extended beyond scholarships:

  • A $5,000 donation to Shaw’s athletic department
  • Sponsorship for the Cardinal Marching Band’s trips to the Olympics in China and competitions in Hawaii
  • Aid for students facing homelessness
  • Life skills seminars, Youth Summits, and ongoing collaboration with Shaw’s administration to enhance students’ educational experiences.

Every year, our Alumni Weekend brings a surge of positive energy and economic vitality to East Cleveland. Local businesses—from restaurants to salons—feel the impact, reinforcing the truth that “East Cleveland is Family.” Our shared pride and unity continue to uplift our hometown.

We invite you to subscribe to our website at www.shawhigh-aa.com to stay connected and informed. Please also consider purchasing an Alumni T-shirt, contributing to our scholarship fund, and paying your annual dues of $20.00 to help sustain our mission.

Your support is needed now more than ever. In a time when resources for our students are being diminished, we must stand together to preserve opportunities and empower the next generation.

We look forward to seeing you during Alumni Weekend and thank you for continuing to uphold the spirit of Shaw High School and the City of East Cleveland.

With Cardinal Pride,

Kathy Grant, c/o ‘77
